Chapter 5 Lulu and Moo and The Giant Bridges
Updated: Sep 1
Chapter 5
Lulu and Moo packed up a picnic of tomatoes, bread and peaches and set off early. It was time for a new adventure!
Very quickly, they heard a loud rumble. It got louder and louder.
"Look!" quacked Lulu. "A TRAIN!"
A big train roared past them. Whoosh! The wind was so strong it nearly knocked them right off the motorcycle!
"Hold on tight!" quacked Lulu, gripping on with all her might.
The train shot into a dark tunnel in the mountain.
They watched and waited...and waited...
Then…POP! The train came out the other side and hurtled down the track!
"It's OK now, it’s gone!" said Moo, still holding on tight.
Lulu let out a big breath. "Phew! That was exciting!”
The road stretched on up, up, up and Lulu and Moo looked up too.
There in front of them were…not one, not two, but three giant bridges standing high in the sky. One was very close and two more stretched far into the distance.
"They look like a staircase right up to the sky!” said Lulu.

Moo tipped his head back so far that he nearly toppled right over!
"Help! I'm wobbly!" Moo giggled. Lulu nudged him back straight, laughing.
Then as they swished around the next bend, they saw a motorcycle lying on its side by the road!
"Oh no!" cried Lulu and Moo together, slowing down.
But some kind people were already there. They lifted the motorcycle back up. The rider stood up and smiled. Everyone was okay! Just a little tumble.
"Phew," said Lulu, "that was a bit scary!”
As they carefully passed by they waved and the rider waved back, brushing themself down with a big smile and looking a little bit embarrassed.
"Everyone needs a helping hoof sometimes," said Moo.
"And a helping wing!" said Lulu.
They rode on, leaning left and right, through lush, green mountains, following rivers and trees, thinking about the train, the bridges and the motorcycle rider.

They felt very glad to have each other to hold on to.
