Chapter 4 Lulu and Moo in the Clouds

Chapter 4

The morning sunshine was warm and Lulu and Moo were feeling thirsty after yesterday’s adventure. Shortly after setting off on the motorcycle, they found a little mountain spring where icy, fresh water bubbled straight out of the rocks.

“That is the tastiest water I’ve ever had!” quacked Lulu, shaking happy little droplets from her feathers.

Moo took a long drink too. “Now I’m ready for anything!” he smiled.

Soon they were racing along twisty mountain roads. The motorcycle swooshed through the bends so quickly that Lulu giggled, Moo squealed and his big fringe blew so high in the wind that, for once, you could see his shiny eyes!

But then, a sign appeared beside the road.

BEAR COUNTRY

Warning...BEARS!

Lulu looked around with wide eyes.

“Do you think we’ll see one?” she whispered.

They looked carefully into the forests, but the bears stayed hidden, deep among the tall trees. Even though they never spotted one, it made the adventure feel wonderfully exciting.

Before long they reached a beautiful river. The water shimmered a magical emerald green and a family of tiny ducklings paddled happily in a line behind their mother.

“They look just like me when I was really little!” laughed Lulu, waving a wing as they floated by.

Next they crossed a bridge that stretched over the sparkling river. It felt as though they were flying.

Beyond the bridge, the road wound through forests filled with the sweet smell of pine trees. The trees grew taller and taller as the mountains climbed higher.

Can you spot Lulu?

Then something amazing happened.

Soft white clouds drifted across the road.

“Look at the clouds!” gasped Moo, “I think I can touch them!”

Everything became quiet and misty. The world looked like a magical dream, with only the tops of the tallest trees peeking through the fluffy white cloud.

Lulu and Moo smiled at each other.

“We never know what the road will bring,” said Lulu.

“It's what makes every day so special,” Moo replied.

Together, they disappeared into the clouds, heading to their next campsite and excited to discover what waited for them next...
