Tour Highlights
2024

Sun Sept 15th - Friday Sept 27th 2024

Day 1 and 2

Sunday: We use a very convenient ferry departure from Plymouth, which leaves in the afternoon. This allows for a leisurely ride down over the weekend from wherever you are in the country.

The modern ferry boasts live music, quizzes, choice of dining, seasonal swimming pool, cinema and whale watching.

Monday: Santander to Potes. 75 mile ride. Welcome to Spain!

Stunning roads, twists and turns, Hermida Gorge, hotel base-camp in Potes.

Day 5 and 6

Thursday: Potes to our hotel in the Asturias mountains. 210 mile ride, hugging the banks of 3 lakes. The views and lookout stops are gorgeous.

5 peaks climbing more than 4,000 feet! Changing scenery here, including another gorge.

Friday: Mountain Hotel.

We go in search of 10 amazing Graffiti works of art, some in very obscure, hidden places, a bit of Hide'n'seek!

Day 9 and 10

Monday: Following miles of lovely, fast roads through Galicia, we make our way back to Asturias and Cagnas and the now familiar twisty mountain roads and beautiful river valley views.

Tuesday: Revisiting Potes, by way of a beautiful gorge, passing the edge of the Somiedo Natural Park, and the well-known bridges of the mind-blowing lakes of Riaño, we'll climb the N-621 to 5,000 feet and drop back down past the famous deer statue, Mirador Del Corzo.

Day 3 and 4

Tuesday: The Picos Triangle and bends galore, stopping for the classic deer and bear statues. This then leads us, following twisty, fast roads, to beautiful Riaño and its stunning lakeside stops, to Covadonga and a monastery built in to the cliff wall.

Wednesday: Taking in breathtaking views, virtually empty roads and a dam along a cliff-lined road. We climb to 6,000 feet in the mountains to gaze upon jaw-dropping scenery, with valleys and rivers. These days will stay with you forever.

Day 7 and 8

Saturday: We take in the stunning Fonsagrada road to head West, skirting Lugo to our hotel for 2 nights in Santiago de Compostela.

Sunday: Today you have the option of exploring the iconic pilgrim town of Santiago de Compostela or a short trip to the Atlantic coast for a day on the beach. There are some stunning villages along this beautiful coastline.

Day 11, 12 and 13

Wednesday: Completing the Hermida Gorge, we set off to ride the Picos Triangle. Navigating some very twisty, but quiet and stunning roads, in places passing through the heart of the mountains in the form of short tunnels cut through the rock, we are treated to some spectacular riding. We visit a magical place, where we have an optional gorge walk and not to be missed viewpoints.

Thursday: Heading to the ferry, we visit a secret viewpoint, overlooking the stunning Hermida Gorge, before taking the small country roads through the foothills of the Picos, arriving Santander in the afternoon.

Friday: On the ferry from Santander to Plymouth and head home :-(
